Alex Corretja crowns Carlos Alcaraz: "I'm confident he can win the ATP Finals"

His lack of confidence with indoor hard courts, keeps him - according to the bookmakers - behind Jannik Sinner and, perhaps, even the new champion in Paris Bercy Alexander Zverev. Carlitos, after being overtaken by Sascha in the ranking, will try to find the right motivations to be able to aspire to win the year-end Master for the first time in his career. Precisely for this reason, on the eve of the tournament in Turin, the young Spaniard trained at the Ferrero Tennis Academy on a special surface, similar to the one he will find in Turin.

The former Spanish tennis player Alex Corretja - in an interview with Eurosport - said he has full confidence in Carlitos ahead of the ATP Finals, revealing that the four-time Grand Slam champion will reach the event at a great moment.

"Alcaraz will arrive at a great moment. He has won some tournaments on fast courts, especially beating Sinner in the final, which gives him extra confidence. In Paris-Bercy the court was faster than he likes. In the Masters everything is very open and everyone arrives very saturated mentally," he said.

Corretja believes this could be the turning point for the 21-year-old Spaniard, who has never yet gone beyond the semifinals of the Finals: "Carlos has learned from the past, he will arrive a little fresher than last season. I have confidence in him, he is a player for the big tournaments and the Masters is one of them."

Tomorrow will see the start of the ATP Finals, which will bring together the 8 best-ranked tennis players this season.
