There is not much left until the start of the new edition of the Masters, and it seems that the excitement is at its peak. Rory McIlroy will certainly attract the most attention, but many are already talking about Scottie Scheffler's Champions Dinner, especially after the world number 1 revealed his menu.
Sir Nick Faldo, an important figure in the world of golf, recalled some of the Champions Dinner, causing various reactions in the public. Namely, the experienced golfer was not quite delighted with Bubba Watson Champions Dinner.
Besides his dinner, he remembered some of them, having great memories.
Being a part of such a dinner is a huge honor for everyone, considering that not everyone can wear the Green Jacket.
“No, the first one I did was steak and kidney pie and they smelt the kidney, and that did not go down well. It was only about three or four of us who had that one. I deem my fish and chips, because I flew over Harry Ramsden cod fillets, chips, mushy peas, Sarson’s vinegar, I deem that as one of the top three,” he said.
“The hilarious bit, the waiter comes round and he goes, ‘do you want these, what are these?’ I said, ‘they’re mushy peas’. He said, ‘mushy what?’ But I deem that was really good.
We’ve had some very good ones. Rahmbo was very good. Vijay started a great trend when he had Thai friends in a restaurant, and so he started all the canapés on the front balcony to start the evening. They do crab legs and ham and sushi. You actually get stuffed before you get started, and we go in and do our official photograph. Then you run to your spots and then we eat. It’s the coolest thing, it’s just champions and the chairman, that’s it.”- he said, as quoted by The Golfing Gazette.
Scottie SchefflerIt will be interesting to follow the reactions of the golfers at Scheffler's dinner, considering that Scottie wants to create a surprise factor. Even though he has already won the Masters and was the host before, many are still wondering what that night will look like, and whether the food will be as delicious as they expect.
Scottie, on the other hand, seems more focused on trying to defend the Majors title, aware that it will be an extremely difficult task, given that only three golfers in the history of this sport have managed to do so.
