Jack Sock recounts hilariously distracting Roger Federer at ATP Finals

Jack Sock recounted distracting Roger Federer by jokingly saying that he was ready to do anything to win a point. In 2017, Sock made his debut at the ATP Finals. In the opening match of the 2017 ATP Finals, Sock took on Federer. Sock ended up losing to Federer 4-6 6-7 (4) but he had a viral moment when he managed to hilariously distract the Swiss. Down 4-2 to Federer in the first set, Sock turned around at the net and bent over - Federer got distracted and missed a shot he just needed to place into the American's court. Sock instantly started laughing and Federer followed. "Whatever it takes to win a point (laughing emoji)," Sock captioned his Instagram Story.

Sock lost to Federer in his first ATP Finals match

Although Sock didn't play badly against Federer, he still ended up losing in straight sets to the former 20-time Grand Slam champion.  After the match, Sock acknowledged that Federer made it uncomfortable for him out there but also added he felt he had his chances. “I missed one first serve in the first game. I had my chances. He put me in some awkward positions on some of those forehands," Sock said after losing to Federer at the ATP Finals. Meanwhile, Federer said after beating Sock that he focused on the most important things. “Sure, I had a tactical plan with my team. But very often in a first match like this, it gets thrown overboard because at the end you’re just happy to be serving well. Focus on that first, and then on the return game sort of try your best, try to keep the ball in play, and go from there," Federer said after beating Sock at the ATP Finals. After losing to Federer, Sock won his next two matches and made the semifinal - where he was beaten by Grigor Dimitrov.
