Jannik Sinner bows to Novak Djokovic: "He deserved the victory"

Despite an almost fantastic week, which made Italian fans dream, Jannik Sinner was defeated in the final by Novak Djokovic, the man who is rewriting the history of tennis. The Serb played a crazy match, winning the 7th title at the ATP Finals, rewriting the history of this tournament. Nole played a match in the footsteps of the challenge against his other great rival Carlos Alcaraz. This week, Jannik beat four top-10 players and demonstrated that he can now compete with all the best. In the post-match press conference the number 4 in the ATP ranking made the following statements: "I think Nole played really, really well today, especially from the baseline. It must be said that today I wasn't particularly good at certain moments. I felt like I wasn't physically at my best and against the best player in the world you can't afford that. He always makes sure there is a big difference, I tried to stay there and try to serve well. Then I made a few too many mistakes, at 40-40 and 4-3 I missed an easy forehand and I must say there was a lot of tension."

Sinner explained why Djokovic deserved to win the ATP Finals

Jannik did not deny Nole's great merits: "For a set and a half he served really good and it was really hard. He played better than me in the difficult moments and absolutely deserved to win. What did I learn? Tennis is a special sport because every day is different. Days ago I won with him, now there were the same field conditions and I lost. I saw that I still have to improve, I have to work to become a better player. Now obviously there's Davis, then a month where I'll try to improve, even physically. It was also the first time I faced all the top ten in a week and it can certainly have an impact." Finally the Italian concluded: "I'm happy because I've arrived in this position to play these matches and I still want to improve. Let's see what will happen in the future."
