With the arrival of LIV Golf on the big stage, well-known names in the golf scene decided to take a path that was criticized by fans. The huge financial offers from LIV Golf were irresistible to many, who had no doubt about whether to accept the offer or not. Many famous golfers received offers, including Jason Day, the Australian golfer.

His fellow Australian, Cameron Smith, for example, accepted an offer from LIV Golf. Interestingly, at that time, Smith was one of the PGA Tour's key players, and he was someone the PGA Tour officials had high expectations for.

In an interview with Code Sports Australia, Day was clear, saying that "he didn't knock it back." regarding the deal. The Australian golfer told his agent to contact LIV Golf and explore the situation, wanting to see what kind of offer they might make. However, LIV Golf officials, although interested, told his agents that Jason was a great golfer, but his injuries were the reason they didn't want to see him on the Tour. The popular golfer understood the decision of the officials from the Saudi-backed Tour.

"What happened was, it was a business move to just go in and explore the potential of what would happen. I said (to my agent), 'no worries, I’m happy with where I’m at, but it’s always nice to know.' And they (LIV Golf) said, 'we love Jason, but he’s too injured; he just gets too many injuries.' I don’t blame them.”-Day said, as quoted by Golf Monthly.

The 36-year-old golfer has had many injury problems since the beginning of his career, including issues with back pain, vertigo, and a strained ligament. At times when it seemed like Day was regaining his form and on the right path to success, it was the injuries that prevented the experienced golfer from taking the next step in his career.

Reflecting on his career, but especially the circumstances that kept him on the PGA Tour, the Australian is happy with how things turned out. He believes that the PGA Tour is the ideal place for him and his development. Ahead of the 36-year-old are huge challenges, primarily the Australian PGA Championship, where he will have the opportunity to perform in front of a large audience.

Jason Day: I'm extremely excited to be coming back home to Queensland

Day is happy that he will be able to perform at the Australian PGA Championship, aware of what his presence at that tournament means to the experts in Australia. Besides him, there will be many other famous golfers from Australia such as Cameron Smith and Adam Scott.

"I'm extremely excited to be coming back home to Queensland this summer to contest the BMW Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland."-he said.

is happy that he had the opportunity to represent Australia at the Paris Olympics, considering it a proud moment for both him and his family. He is excited to play in front of an Australian crowd, especially since he has previously experienced the incredible atmosphere that Australians are known for creating. Ahead of this 36-year-old golfer, there will be many exciting moments. We can expect Day to give his best performance.

"Wearing the green and gold for Australia at the Olympics in Paris was an extremely proud moment for myself and my family and it will be very special to get back on home soil and play in front of the Aussie fans. I've seen the amazing atmosphere at 'RQ' the past few years and can't wait to experience it for myself."

Jason Day on PGA Tour-LIV Golf merger

The talk about a LIV Golf and PGA Tour merger is still ongoing, as both sides have not been able to find common ground. LIV Golf, backed by the Saudis, suddenly entered the golf scene, but the PGA Tour was not willing to watch someone take control of the golf world, so they made major changes. LIV Golf's financial power is enormous, and the question is whether the PGA Tour can compete despite the strong contracts and deals they've made recently. Many believe a merger would be the best option. Although negotiations are in progress, there are still no signs that a final agreement will be reached.

Jason Day expressed hope that the PGA Tour and LIV Golf could come back together, mentioning that there are many players on the LIV Tour that are missed on the PGA Tour. He explained that he has always maintained a neutral stance when it comes to LIV and avoided getting involved in the politics surrounding the situation.
