JUST DO IT: Mouratoglou is sure Rafael Nadal can win the Roland Garros 2025

"Next year Rafael Nadal can be a potential winner of Roland Garros, I'm sure of it."

Patrick Mouratoglou has shared some surprising thoughts on Rafael Nadal's future at Roland Garros. In fact, for Serena Williams' former coach, 2024 will not be the Spaniard's last year as a professional tennis player. Nadal himself, in recent weeks, has repeatedly said that he has not yet made an official and definitive decision on his retirement, leaving the door open to a sensational comeback for him in both Rome and Paris.

The French coach made some interesting considerations in an interview with Tennis Majors, touching on the Spaniard's absence from Wimbledon and his desire to prepare for the Paris Olympic Games.

"The fact that he decides not to go to London is another clear sign that he wants to win the Olympics, that he believes he can do it and that this will not be his farewell year. He is not willing to go to tournaments to greet everyone, otherwise he would have played on grass. He wants to win the Olympics. And that's why he is preparing on clay, I'm sure he will do well after accumulating many more training sessions," he told to Tennis Majors.

Regarding the Roland Garros played by Nadal, Mouratoglou - who is currently Holger Rune's coach - explained: "The conditions in which Alexander Zverev arrived were the worst for him. Deep down, Rafael Nadal knew that he was still far from his best level, apart from the fact that that day the pitch was very humid and the ball barely bounced. If they had played that match outdoors, with so much heat and sun, we would certainly have seen something different. We will see these conditions at the Olympic Games, as they will be held several weeks later. I think he'll do well."
