Marin Cilic hilariously clears air on cryptic X post that left fans stunned

Marin Cilic has cleared the air on his cryptic X post, funnily revealing that his two-year-old kid made the post that left many stunned.

10 days ago, CLAY magazine posted an article titled: "Argentina to lose one of its two ATP 250; Chile is threatened." On Sunday, Cilic's X account responded to the CLAY article by writing: "I 98988014 i893nj."

Since Cilic's response didn't make any sense, many were left stunned and asked what happened there. Then, 2014 US Open champion Cilic took to X to clear the air on what really happened.

"Haha apologies, my little 2y old wanted to share his thoughts on X," Cilic wrote.

Cilic also issues an injury update

Cilic, a former world No. 3, last competed on the clay courts of Buenos Aires earlier this month, where he was beaten by Laslo Djere in the first round. After losing early in Buenos Aires, Cilic announced he was withdrawing from Rio de Janeiro and Santiago due to "a minor injury."

"Sad to share that, due to a minor injury I sustained in my last match, I will have to cut my time in South America short in order to let it heal properly. Thank you to everyone in Buenos Aires for the incredible hospitality Argentina, I only wish our time together was longer," Cilic announced after Buenos Aires.

⠀ On Sunday, one fan used the situation on X to ask Cilic if he was planning on playing at the Indian Wells.

"Are you playing Indian wells?" a fan asked. In his response, Cilic was clear and direct: "Unfortunately not, doing rehab back at home."

Meanwhile, it has been a rough season for Cilic so far, who is 0-4 in 2024 and is now ranked at No. 1042 in the world. While Cilic's ranking is poor at the moment, it is caused by the Croatian being limited to just two tournaments last year due to knee surgery.

It remains to be seen when will Cilic be ready to return to action after sustaining a minor injury in Buenos Aires.
