"Hey guys, an update from me. I have spent the last few months trying to find solutions to treat the difficulties I have with my knee. I have decided to have another knee surgery, after careful consideration and lots of helpful advice from experienced doctors. It seemed like the best option to move forward and achieve full recovery.

My desire to play at the highest level again has not weakened, on the contrary, it is stronger than ever, and I hope that this further surgery will help me get closer to returning to the pitch. This journey over the last 15 months has been challenging, but I am motivated to return and am grateful to all of you for your support throughout the journey," he wrote.
