Nick Kyrgios is picking Novak Djokovic to beat Jannik Sinner in the ATP Finals final as the Australian thinks the Serb will know exactly what to do against the Italian. Today, world No 1 Djokovic and home favorite Sinner will be battling against each other for the 2023 ATP Finals title in Turin. On Saturday, Djokovic delivered a brutally good performance to dismantle Carlos Alcaraz 6-3 6-2. On the other side, Sinner overcame Daniil Medvedev 6-3 6-7 (4) 6-1. "I think I'm gonna go with Novak. I was really eager to see his performance today against Alcaraz to see how he was feeling. But after today's performance, I'm gonna safely say Novak. I think he's gonna steady the ship. He's gonna understand what he didn't do right the first time," Kyrgios said on Tennis Channel.
Kyrgios tips Djokovic beat Sinner in the ATP Finals finalFor the second time in five days, Djokovic and Sinner will be meeting on the court. On Tuesday, Sinner edged out Djokovic 7-5 6-7 (5) 7-6 (2) in the group stage. It was an extremely high-quality match, in which Sinner prevailed over Djokovic in the end after more than three hours of play. After beating Alcaraz in the Turin semifinal, Djokovic said he now has a better picture of how to approach the Sinner match. “I know what I expect. I think having already a match against him in this kind of atmosphere helps me prepare better. The performance of tonight really gives me good feelings ahead of tomorrow’s final because I played my best match of the tournament so far," Djokovic said ahead of the final. If 36-year-old Djokovic wins the ATP Finals title today, he will break a tie with Roger Federer and become the first player with seven ATP Finals titles. On the other side, 22-year-old Sinner is aiming for his first ATP Finals title. It remains to be seen if Djokovic can break another record today.
