Last year, Grégory Bourdy, Joël Stalter and Martin Trainer lined up in what is similar to the DP World Tour access cards that are currently in full swing in Europe. The announcement of the terms of participation in the LIV Golf Promotion Event may give some people ideas.

Liv, news

Here is who can line up and how the selection is carried out.

Qualified for the first round on December 12 are players who meet one of the following criteria:

Having been selected in the Walker or Palmer Cup team Winner or finalist of the US Amateur, British Amateur, Asia-Pacific Amateur, Latino Amateur, European Amateur, African Amateur, NCAA Championship or the individual ranking of the World Amateur Championships. The first 15 players in the top 40 of the world amateur ranking The first 25 players in the top 40 of the International Series ranking The first 5 players in the top 10 of the Japan Tour, KPGA Tour, Sunshine Tour or the Australasian Tour The first 30 players in the top 300 of the TUGR ranking * (competitor of the official OWGR world ranking) The first 20 and ties from the first round advance to the second round and the scores are reset to zero.

To directly access the 2nd round on December 13, you must meet one of the following criteria:

Be in the top two of the world amateur ranking Have finished the International Series season between 2nd and 8th place Be in the top 3 of the Japan Tour, KPGA Tour (Korea), Sunshine Tour (South Africa) or Australasian Tour The first 5 players in the Top 30 of the DP World Tour or the Korn Ferry Tour The winners of the International Series or Asian Tour tournament in 2024 The winners of the PGA Tour or DP World Tour tournament in 2023 or 2024 The Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup players of the last 5 years The winners of Majors of the last 5 years The first 15 players in the top 150 of the TUGR ranking The players relegated at the end of the 2024 LIV season and invited players

The best 20 players at the end of the second round qualify for the final round of competition, and the scores are reset again.

The final round takes place over 36 holes and at the end of the day on Saturday, the winner pockets $200,000 and his ticket to join LIV Golf in 2025.

While the tournament seems open to many professional and amateur players, particularly French players who could directly access the 2nd round, via their ranking at the Race to Dubai at the end of the season and/or as winners of tournaments on the DP World Tour (e.g. Lacroix, Ravetto, Guerrier, Pavon, Langasque), the only place available should dissuade more than one.
