Stan Wawrinka rips ITF by releasing a new shocking accusation

After the certain elimination of Switzerland from the Davis Cup 2023 group stage, Stan Wawrinka came back to criticize the organization and the new format of the team competition. The accusation launched by the expert tennis player on X on Saturday is very serious.

The 38-year-old made a truly shocking revelation, by writing on X: "Trivia Davis Cup question : Did you know that ITF Tennis are paying people to support and make some noise for every country at every match?"

Even in the comments, the winner of 3 Grand Slam titles during his career confirmed what was stated in the Tweet: "100% confirmed, it's all true."

Stan Wawrinka attacca ITF and Gerard Piqué

It's not the first controversial message Wawrinka has shared this week. Stan had underlined in the first match of the group against France, in Manchester, how the stands were completely empty: "Thank you Piqué and ITF," was the tone of the caption of the video published and made public to all.

On that occasion there was the reaction of Piqué himself on X. The former Barcelona defender, now entrepreneur, boasted of the numbers achieved in last year's group stage and absolved himself of responsibility for the bad entries on the first day of the match.

He wrote: "Last year these were the appearances in the group stage. You can compare it yourself Stan. We don't organize it anymore, ask ITF."

Stan Wawrinka's experience was not enough for Switzerland to take home at least one victory in the event. However, the native of Lausanne achieved the team's only victory in all nine matches: the 38-year-old managed to beat Cameron Norrie in the match against hosts Great Britain. Stan then suffered a defeat against Ugo Humbert.

Julian Benneteau, captain of the French team in the Billie Jean King Cup, also responded to Pique, launching a heavy accusation at him, through his X profile: "How dare you speak? You killed, together with the ITF, one of the pillars of tennis. At least Please shut the f uck up."
