Tony Finau surprised many after it was confirmed yesterday that he withdrew from the Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods' host tournament. Finau, a well-known name in the golf scene, has been associated with LIV Golf for some time, which further deepens the concern that this golfer could follow the path of his good friend, Jon Rahm.

The tournament, which will be held in two days, arouses the interest of fans, considering that the greatest names of the golf scene have the opportunity to perform there. However, we'll watch this year's edition without Finau.

After the rumors became more intense, the wife of the popular golfer decided to react via TikTok, and in a short video clip she clearly said: "My life is complicated enough, the last thing I need is more drama."

Immediately after that, the camera was directed towards the 35-year-old golfer who was smiling, giving the hang loose sign with his hand, after which he said: "Hello drama." It is interesting that Tony was also recently pulled from the Black Desert Championship.

Many believe that this sequence of events indicates that this golfer will leave the PGA Tour and sign for LIV Golf. His statements about Jon Rahm are also the reason why many believe that Finau will follow a well-known path.

After Rahm's departure to LIV, Finau was specific, pointing out that he was happy for the Spaniard. The departure of Rahm caused concern among PGA Tour officials and fans, considering that at that time, Jon was one of the biggest stars of this Tour. Finau then stressed that Rahm is someone who has the right to make the best decision for himself.

Tony has been on the PGA Tour for 11 years. While he hasn't excelled in the Majors, Finau has been impressive in many tournaments. Certainly, his departure would be a huge blow to the PGA, but the question is Is it really going to happen?

The 35-year-old golfer was also one of the main topics in the media last year, having been linked to LIV Golf. The famous golfer stressed at the time that he had nothing to say, and that many things were unknown to him.

"I have nothing to say right now. I haven’t heard anything."

After reporters again wanted to know more from him, he confirmed his previous views, saying that he was primarily focused on the game and his progress.

“No, not yet,” he said. “I haven’t let anything marinate other than just playing right now.”

LIV Golf GM's statement: Many golfers regret not accepting LIV Golf's offer

Fans believe that in a few weeks, Finau will confirm he accepted LIV Golf's offer, especially since this is the period of the year when the leaders of the Saudi-backed Tour are looking for additions for the future. They want this Tour to grow from year to year, and to become a Tour that will dominate the golf scene.

In previous years, they managed to attract big names, offering them huge amounts of money to come. Some of the golfers managed to resist the huge offers, making other things a priority. However, it seems that even those are slowly changing their minds, at least judging by the statements made by LIV officials.

Recent statements by the LIV Golf GM support what has been said in the past few days. Namely, one of the LIV GMs admitted a few weeks ago that his phone is constantly ringing, stressing that many golf agents want their clients to become part of this Tour. The main reason for this? Many believe that the money that LIV can offer is the reason why most want to become part of this Tour and build a story there.

"My phone's been ringing nonstop basically since right before Dallas and things are starting to happen from either player directly or agents calling exploring and wanting to look at the possibility of coming on [LIV team]," the general manager said.

The LIV GM also confirmed that many golfers regret not accepting the Saudi-backed Tour's offer earlier, considering it the worst decision they've ever made. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds. The focus will not only be on Tony Finau, but also on other big names on the PGA Tour. LIV Golf executives, despite being in talks with the PGA Tour regarding a merger, are still hungry to dominate the world of golf. The best way to achieve dominance is to hire the best golfers in the world. There are many of those on the PGA Tour, a Tour that has dominated the game for years, and still does.
