Schwartzman into final round of qualifying as Gasquet bids farewell to US Open

Former top 10 players Diego Schwartzman and Richard Gasquet met with contrasting fortunes in the second round of US Open qualifying on Wednesday. Schwartzman, aged 32 and now ranked No 246 in the world, upset fellow Argentine and top seed in qualifying, Thiago Agustín Tirante 7-5, 6-4 to move into the third and final round of qualifying for the last Grand Slam of the season.
