'Hawk Tuah' girl Haliey Welch bluntly fires back at Nick Kyrgios shade

"Hawk Tuah" girl Haliey Welch has issued a response to Nick Kyrgios' shade, saying that she is "not a hater" like some and adding that she "does not care at all" about the Australian tennis star's opinion.

After Welch made an appearance at the Jake Paul fight last week and pretty much was the star of the night, Kyrgios made a comment on social media that drew lots of attention and made the headlines in some major non-tennis outlets.

"No correlation between fame and actually being decent at something anymore (laughing emoji)," Kyrgios wrote on X after the fight.

If there's someone unaware of who the Hawk Tuah girl is, she became popular a month ago after her street interview went viral. In the interview, Welch was describing what's the best way to please a man in bed.

Welch responds to Kyrgios: I don't wake up to hate...

A couple of days after the Kyrgios dig, TMZ caught up with Welch on the street. And among the questions asked, she was asked to address the comment that Kyrgios recently made about her.

“I don’t wake up and hate on anybody else, I don’t understand why people do that. They have their own opinion, they’re entitled to it, I don’t care what they think. At all," Welch told TMZ.

Meanwhile, Kyrgios is still out of action but he is preparing to soon return to action from his wrist surgery. At this past Wimbledon, Kyrgios practiced with Djokovic - everything went perfectly - and now he is expected to soon play again.

"Nearly 10 months since my brutal wrist surgery... First real test today and it almost brought me to tears the fact that I’ve been able to get back to this level - There were periods that maybe it wasn’t meant to be - Novak told me today that he couldn’t tell that I’d had the surgery..." Kyrgios wrote on his Instagram Story after his practice with Djokovic.
