LPGA Tour, time for the CPKC Women's Open

Roberta Liti and Benedetta Moresco will be among the 156 competitors taking part in the CPKC Women's Open (25-28 July) on the Earl Gray Golf Club course, in Calgary, Canada.

Megan Khang, a 26-year-old from Brockton (Massachusetts), defends the only title won on the LPGA Tour in a good level field, even if there will only be three projects in the top ten classified in the Rolex Ranking: Lilia Vu (number 2), l Australian Hannah Green (n. 6) and Rose Zhang (n. 9), all in the role of favourites.

LPGA Tour, results

Five other past winners at the start: the New Zealander Lydia Ko (the only one with three successes, 2012, 2013, 2015), the Thai Ariya Jutanugarn (2016), the South African Paula Reto (2022), Brittany Lincicome (2011) and the Canadian Brooke M . Henderson (2018), which home fans await an encore. Also worth following are Lexi Thompson, who announced her retirement from competitive skiing at the end of the year, Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho, Sarah Schmelzel, Lucy Li, the Australians Minjee Lee and Grace Kim, the Irish Leona Maguire, the Thais Pajaree Anannarukarn and Chanettee Wannasaen (her Dana Open), the Chinese Xiyu Lin and the Korean Haeran Ryu.

It's not a very favorable moment for the two Italians who were both out at the cut last week in Ohio. For Roberta Liti it is the third outing in a row after 36 holes, while Benedetta Moresco, who also alternates on the Epson Tour, has never cashed in the five tournaments in which she has taken part on the major circuit. The prize pool is $2,600,000.

The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played. They are jointly written and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf throughout the world, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are the responsibility of the United States Golf Association. An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision is effective January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance. The rule book, entitled "Rules of Golf", is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and managing the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
