Rafael Nadal gives harsh warning to Jannik Sinner

In an interview given to El Partidazo of Cadena Cope, the Spanish champion Rafael Nadal talked about his feelings regarding the upcoming Paris Olympics.

It must be said that a few hours after the interview, Rafa cancelled the two training sessions scheduled for today due to a leg problem and his coach Carlos Moya questioned the presence of the Spanish athlete at the Olympic tournament.

But, in any case, Rafa said: "I feel good, I'm very happy to experience the Olympic Games again. This is a reward for me. Last week was tough, I didn't play the way I wanted. I didn't come here for a walk, I will try to give my best. I can't wait to play well and, historically, I usually raise my level when I represent Spain. I hope I have the extra energy I need."

Nadal then talked about Jannik Sinner's absence, giving the young Italian a warning: "I'm very sorry for his absence, I have a great relationship with him and his season is impressive. For me, the top seed was already Carlos, even before his retirement. Then there was him and Djokovic. I think it will be a complicated moment for him, because one of the worst moments for me was losing London 2012. I would have liked him to compete."

Rafa has a great relationship with his yoiung countryman Carlos Alcaraz. In this competition he will also have the chance to play doubles. A pair of two champions that everyone is eagerly awaiting.

"I have no doubt that he is the best player in the world. I have experience in some things, but this is not always an advantage because he has a lot of spontaneity to deal with important situations. I think that if we are both able to play well individually, doubles will work. I will try to resolve the tactical situations that arise during the match, I can help, but Carlos manages the moments of tension on the court as well as or better than me."
