20 years after triumph, Maria Sharapova visits Wimbledon with her son

Maria Sharapova returned to Wimbledon with her son Theodore and fiancé Alexander Gilkes, exactly 20 years after winning her first Grand Slam trophy at the All England Club as a 17-year-old.

The former world No.1 shared a series of photos on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into this full circle moment with her family. Looking elegant in white sneakers, a pleated over-the-knee skirt, and a brown oversized shirt, Sharapova stepped onto Centre Court, holding her toddler’s hand. The proud mom also showed her little boy her name listed among The Lawn Tennis Ladies’ Singles Champions.

“My heart is full,” Sharapova expressed her emotions on social media. The five-time Grand Slam champion added, “I don’t frame many photos, but this might be one of them,” referring to a heartwarming image where her son salutes the Wimbledon ball boys and girls. The Russian star also posted a lovely family photo, posing with her partner and son on the iconic Wimbledon grass.
