Just a few days prior, Djokovic was seen relaxing on a yacht with his wife, Jelena, and their two children, son Stefan and daughter Tara. The family appeared to be enjoying the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, with Novak skillfully piloting the yacht while the children played near Jelena, who stayed in the shade. Montenegro has long been a favorite summer destination for Djokovic, who frequently spends his vacations exploring its stunning coastline and charming towns.
Sharapova, on the other hand, has her own history with Montenegro. In 2015, the former world No. 1 enjoyed a memorable vacation in this Balkan paradise, when she flaunted her stunning bikini body on King’s Beach in Sveti Stefan.
Kotor is a historic town on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture and stunning natural surroundings. The town’s winding streets, ancient walls, and quaint squares offer a glimpse into its rich past, while the backdrop of towering mountains and the tranquil bay create a picturesque setting.
The friendship between Sharapova and Djokovic has stood the test of time. Their first meeting happened a long time ago, way before Djokovic had any Grand Slam titles or even ATP titles, during a mixed doubles exhibition match in La Quinta, California. In an Instagram live session four years ago, Sharapova shared a humorous story about their dinner date from that period:
“You said that if you’d win, I would have to pay dinner. I was like, ‘Whatever, who is this kid.’ And you won, and you were like, ‘We are having dinner tonight, we are going to a Japanese place.’ I was like, ‘Are you serious? You and me going to dinner tonight.’ So we did, we ended up going to dinner. You pulled out an old Kodak camera and you asked the waiter to take a photo. And here we are now I think you behaved like a fan that day (laughs).” (sources: Kurir Sport/Naslovnestrane365)
